Rahab

By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with the unbelievers, receiving the spies with peace. Hebrews 11:31

Rahab was a surprise. She was one of those people who do not expect God to use.
But God sees people in a different way from ours.
How harlot (prostitute) in the city of Jericho, Rahab lived on the margins of society. It was used in particular and rejected in public. The home, built on top of the city wall, was a strategic place for the Israelite spies hiding, since they would be confused with Rahab and clients could contemplate from above the entire city of Jericho.
Rumors about the advance of Israeli invasion were all over the city. Have spies in your home Raabe convinced that there would be war. Why dwell upon the city wall, Rahab felt particularly vulnerable. She was so scared as anyone else, but she only turned to the true God for salvation. Her faith gave her the courage to hide the spies and outwit the authorities. All she knew about God is that the Israelites trusted Him and ministered unto, but this was just a beginning ... And we all have to get to know God somewhere and at some time.
God works through people, even those we would reject. God remembered Rahab for their faith and not by their profession! She was a sinner, but did not remain in their sin. And God rewarded: she became a servant of God ... actually entered the lineage of Christ! If sometimes you feel a failure, remember that Rahab changed life through their trust in God.

Rahab did not let her fear affect their faith in the ability that God has to save.
